Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any prior experience?

No prior experience is required for our Introduction or Basic Cruising Course. Our instructors will teach you everything you need to know.

The Intermediate cruising course has manditory prerequisistes. (see page for details).

What should I bring to my sailing course?

We recommend bringing comfortable clothing appropriate for the conditions, sun protection, and a water bottle. All necessary sailing equipment including pfds will be provided.

Can you teach on my boat?

The Basic Cruising Course and the Intermediate Cruising course are offered on owners boats and on charter boats offered through Canadian Yacht Charters. cycnorth.com

Do you teach in the Caribbean?

Yes, In the winter I teach both Sail Canada and ASA courses through the Barefoot Offshore Sailing School in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
